Privacy Policy
Effective October 26, 2026
Who we are
Pin is provided by DKP Growth Partners. For event sign-ups, the organizer decides what to ask and how to use the answers, and Pin handles the information on the organizer's behalf. For organizer accounts and this website, we're responsible for the information.
What we collect
From people signing up: name, an email address or phone number, how many people are coming, and anything the organizer asks for, such as dietary notes or a pickup address for a ride.
Organizers can also add people themselves, for example from a paper sign-up sheet or a phone call. If an organizer adds you, they're responsible for having your permission, and you can ask us to remove you.
From organizers: name, email and organization details.
From everyone: your IP address and basic browser details, used to keep forms safe from abuse, to secure accounts, and to record when someone agrees to texts.
How it's used
Only to run the event: confirmations, reminders and the organizer's lists. We don't sell personal information, share it for advertising, or show ads.
Dietary notes you add are seen by the event's organizers and appear in your own confirmation email.
Services that help run Pin
We use a small number of providers, and only so Pin can work: Replit (app hosting and database), Cloudflare (network security and bot checks), Vercel (this website), Resend (email), Telnyx (text messages), Stripe (payments for paid events and plans), Sentry (error reports, with personal details removed) and PostHog (usage statistics without names, emails or phone numbers). They may only use the information to provide their service to us.
Cookies
Organizers' sign-in uses a cookie on app.pin.events. Event pages and this website don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
Personal information for an event is deleted automatically after the event, 90 days by default. Organizers can choose a shorter or longer period. Counts with no names are kept.
Deleted information can remain in encrypted backups for up to 30 days before they're replaced. Records that someone agreed to or stopped texts are kept as long as the law requires us to be able to show them.
Emails we send
When you sign up for an event, we email you a confirmation and updates about that event, such as reminders and changes. We don't add you to mailing lists or send messages about anything else unless you separately ask us to.
Organizers can send messages to the people signed up for their event. Each one includes a link to unsubscribe from that organization.
Text messages
Texts go only to people who checked the box to receive them. Mobile information is not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes, and text-message opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party. See the Text Message Terms.
Ride addresses
Pickup addresses are encrypted and visible only to the ride coordinator for that event and the organization's owners and admins. If you're matched with a driver and agreed to share it, your driver sees your address too.
Children
Pin doesn't collect information directly from children under 13. For youth events, a parent or guardian signs up their children and receives all messages.
When youth sign-ups are available, allergy and medical notes about children will be encrypted, visible only to the event's leaders and the organization's owners and admins, never included in emails, and deleted 30 days after the event.
Your choices
You can change or cancel your sign-up anytime with the link in your confirmation. To see, correct or delete your information sooner, email privacy@pin.events. We honor these requests from everyone, wherever you live, and answer within 30 days. If your request is about an event, we may check with its organizer first. Some states give you specific privacy rights; we don't sell or share personal information for advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and tell organizers by email before the change takes effect.
